The Original History of the Brethren in Christ Church!

Here’s a picture of me with the newest addition to my library of Brethren in Christ literature: a copy of Asa W. Climenhaga’s History of the Brethren in Christ Church. Publish in 1942, it’s the first history of the denomination.

The book was a gift from Karen Deyhle, a friend of the search for piety and obedience. Karen was kind enough to pick me up this book and D. Ray Heisey’s Healing Body and Soul: The Life and Times of Dr. W.O. Baker during Messiah Village‘s recent Fall Festival. Many thanks to Karen for her generosity!

I know the semester’s just begun, but I’m already placing History of the Brethren in Christ Church at the top of my winter break reading list. Come on, December!

    Devin,
The Messiah Village sale is a great place to pick up BIC history books. Those who put the books out for sale create a separate section for BIC books.
